  1. Set aside a specific time to work out – Take a look at your schedule and try to find at least one hour per day to devote to exercise. If you tell yourself you will work out at some point in the day after certain tasks are done but don’t set aside a concrete time, you are much less likely to uphold that promise to yourself. You should make that hour of exercise just as important as other tasks in your daily routine and adjust your schedule if necessary around your set workout time.
  2. Set a fitness goal – Make sure your goals are realistic and have clear milestones. For example, if you want to get in shape to run a 5k, sign up for a race early and find a program that will help you be ready by race day.
