About Us
The first “UltraSlide” board was built in the fall of 1992 in an off-campus apartment near Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, for use as a cross-trainer for cycling. About a year later, the men’s tennis coach at Northwestern contacted us asking if we could make a board for the team. A couple days later, we received another inquiry from someone associated with university. The business (originally called “Torch Enterprises” and later changed to “Varisport”) was incorporated in December of 1993 and we were off, with a visit to the Chicago Bulls shortly thereafter. Since then, UltraSlide has benefited teams, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and rehabilitation patients worldwide. Professional and collegiate strength and conditioning coaches rely on the UltraSlide for lateral training, agility, and core stabilizing workouts. Sports Medicine professionals depend on UltraSlide for various rehabilitations, most notably ACL. Fitness professionals, personal trainers, and home fitness enthusiasts have found the UltraSlide to be not only a fun and challenging lower-body workout, but a highly-effective functional training tool.
When you purchase an UltraSlide, you are not only receiving a highly-effective, top-quality exercise device, but one that is proudly, ethically, and sustainably made in the USA. It’s a product you’ll love using and feel great about owning. So, please have a look around this site, then contact us with any questions. We look forward to speaking with you and earning your trust and support.
